How long should you take supplements?

It depends on the supplement and your goal. Short-term use (e.g. zinc for colds, iron for deficiency) might be for weeks or months until rechecked. Maintenance supplements (e.g. vitamin D, omega-3) are often taken long-term if diet and sun exposure are insufficient. Creatine can be used in cycles or continuously at maintenance doses. Periodically reassess with your healthcare provider: get blood work if relevant, and adjust or stop if no longer needed. Do not assume that taking a supplement indefinitely is always necessary or safe. This is educational only; not medical advice.
